Bowling title on the line

Jackson and Cascade are headed for a Friday showdown that will determine the Wesco bowling championship.

The Wolfpack (10-1) and the Bruins (9-1) face off at 3:15 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, at Evergreen Lanes in Everett. Cascade is looking to defend its league title, while the Timberwolves are looking to move up from last year’s second-place finish.

Jackson defeated Cascade 3-0 in late November and the Bruins blanked the Wolfpack 3-0 in mid-December.

Senior captain Molly Jo Myers is Jackson’s top individual with a 159 average.

The district tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Glacier Lanes in Everett. One team and two individuals advance to the state tournament, which is Feb. 1-2 at Narrows Plaza Bowl in University Place.

“Last year we didn’t have enough teams in our district to have our own tournament,” Jackson coach Dan Eng said. “This year we added enough new schools to do our own tournament up north.”

Jackson advanced three individuals to state last year.
