Rotary partners with county on disaster distribution drills

Leading by example, the Mill Creek Rotary hopes other civic organizations also will play a role in the CPOD drills to be ready to help supply residents with food, water and medical supplies during an actual emergency.

Working with guidance from authorities from the Snohomish County Depatment of Emergency Management, volunteers from the Mill Creek Rotary Club took part in an intense training to be able to provide vital food, water and medical supplies to residents of the city in the event of a disaster.

Eighteen Rotarians and many of their spouses took place in the training on Sept. 22 at the DEM headquarters in Everett.

The distribution simulation was staged as part of an effort to relieve first-responders from being forced to take time away from life saving efforts.
