Seattle University grad Gordon Brink has been named the new marketing and communications coordinator for the city of Mill Creek.
“As a new resident of the Mill Creek area, I am very excited to learn more about the area and get to know more of my neighbors in the process,” said Brink. “I figure there really is no better way to do that then to work for the City I call home.”
In this role, Brink will help keep the community informed about city programs and initiatives, ranging from construction updates, to events and community outreach. Brink also will execute the strategies and efforts outlined by the City’s outreach and engagement plans.
“We are delighted to have Gordon as a part of our team,” said Joni Kirk, director of communications and marketing. “Gordon brings passion and energy to his work that will strengthen our team as we build out the city’s marketing and tourism functions.”
Brink began his duties working with Kirk on Monday, April 2.
The city’s newest employee earned a master’s in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in strategic communications from Seattle University. With almost 10 years of marketing and communication experience, Brink said he is excited to take on this opportunity.
Brink previously worked with an international food sourcing company to deploy international social media strategy to all of its global entities, managed external relationships and engaged prospective customers at trade shows. Recently, he worked for a local winery setting up their new tasting room and exploring the world of viticulture.
Among his other talents, he plays first base on his softball team and enjoys exploring wine country and tasting along the way.
