Jackson rebounds after opening loss | Girls basketball

Jackson’s Olivia Skibiel was locked in against Monroe.

The junior standout scored 29 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Timberwolves to a 60-49 victory over the Bearcats in a loser-out 4A District girls basketball tournament game Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Everett Community College.

“She’s been putting in a lot of time with her shooting,” Jackson coach Duane Morris said.

Skibiel was hitting shots from all over the court – outside, inside and driving to the basket, Morris added.

The other key to Tuesday’s victory was the Timberwolves’ defense. Jackson took a 23-11 lead...
