Wolfpack takes 2nd at 4A state championships | Track and field

Jackson recorded its best finish in school history at the 4A boys state track and field championships.

Led by 3,200-meter champion Matthew Watkins, the Timberwolves took home a second place trophy Saturday, May 27, at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.

Mead won the team title with 39 points and was followed the Jackson and Bellarmine Prep, which each scored 31. Glacier Peak finished 19th with 15 points.

Watkins, won the 3,200 in 9 minutes, 16.09 seconds and took second in the 1,600 in a personal best time of 4:11.88. (see story on this page ).
