Wolfpack goes 2-2 at state tourney | Softball

The Jackson softball team followed up its third straight district championship with an extended run at the 4A state championships.

The Timberwolves opened with a 3-0 victory over Auburn Mountainview Friday, May 26, at Dwight-Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane.

Sophomore pitcher Iyanla Pennington struck out 14 batters in the first round game. Pennington threw a couple of inning in relief at state last season but this year’s tournament was her first big test, Jackson coach Kyle Peacocke said.
