Grizzlies lose at state regionals | Baseball

Glacier Peak was a strike away from advancing to a 4A state regional baseball championship game.

But the Grizzlies saw Chiawana rally for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun Glacier Peak 4-3 in a loser-out contest Saturday, May 20, at Heidelberg Park in Tacoma.

The Grizzlies were down 2-1 heading into the seventh inning. After two walks, senior Ryan Ober hit a two-run double to give his team the lead.

Glacier Peak will graduate 18 seniors and have four juniors back. The 22 players made the team’s debut at the 4A level a season to remember. The Grizzlies won a share of...
