Jackson senior standout prevails in close match | Girls tennis

Jackson’s Maheen Jamshidpour is a formidable opponent even when she’s not 100 percent healthy.

Nursing an injured bicep tendon, Jamshidpour defeated Mariner’s Loni Tra 7-5, 6-3 in a hard-fought Wesco 4A girls tennis match Friday, April 21, at Mariner High School.

“I don’t feel I played too well in the beginning,” Jamshidpour said. “I was really tense. At the end I just kind of relaxed and trusted, thinking that I know I can play. I just pulled it out.
