Making cents of the ST3 sales tax increase
Last updated 4/7/2017 at Noon
The sales and use tax within the City of Mill creek increased one half of one percent (from 9.9 to 10.4 percent) on April 1 to fund rapid transit in three counties.
The boost works out to a 5-cent increase per $10 spent in Mill Creek. This voter-approved tax increase known as the ST3 tax will not supplement the city’s budget. It will be used by Sound Transit to expand and coordinate light-rail, commute-rail, and express bus service, and will improve access to transit facilities in Snohomish County, King County and Pierce County.
