New coach takes over talented Wildcats squad | Baseball

When Max Whitt took the job as head baseball coach at Archbishop Murphy High School, he heard that he was going to have a good team.
After a season-opening 4-1 victory over Anacortes on Tuesday, March 14, and watching his players at work in practice, Whitt is impressed by what’s he’s seen.
“The boys come to practice every day willing to do whatever it takes to get better,” Whitt said.
Whitt took over from legendary coach Stan Taloff, who retired after last season. The Hall of Fame coach led the Wildcats to a state championship in 2012 and seven league titles.
