Current Civil Service Commission Vacancy

The City of Mill Creek is seeking a volunteer to serve on the Civil Service Commission.

Here are the details:

• One vacancy; expiring April 30, 2017.

• Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. at Mill Creek City Hall, 15728 Main St., Mill Creek. (There may be additional special meetings required)

• Citizen of the United States, resident for at least one year immediately preceding appointment to the commission and registered voter in Snohomish County.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• To provide for, formulate, and hold competitive tests to determine the relative qualifications of persons who seek employment for civil service positions and certify eligibility lists.

• To hear and determine appeals or complaints regarding Civil Service examinations.

• To maintain and approve Civil Service regulations in compliance with State law.

Planning Commission has vacancy

The City of Mill Creek is seeking a volunteer to fill a midterm vacancy on the Planning Commission.

The appointment is to fill a term that expires April 30, 2018. Planning Commission meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Planning Commission shall have all of the powers and perform each and all of the duties specified by Chapter 35A.63 RCW, together with any other duties or authority that may hereafter be conferred upon it by the laws of the state of Washington.

The Planning Commission shall prepare a comprehensive plan for anticipating and influencing the orderly and coordinated development of land and building uses of the City of Mill Creek and its environs.

The Planning Commission shall conduct public hearings on all proposed regulations concerning the use of land in the City of Mill Creek or amendments to existing regulations and shall make recommendations for appropriate action on such proposed land use regulation to the City Council.
